The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl punter Mat McBriar. He agreed to a one-year deal. He's expected to challenge Eagles punter Chas Henry for the starting job. A two-time Pro Bowl selection with the Cowboys, McBriar has a career 45.3 average to rank fourth in NFL history.

McBriar heads to the Eagles after working out for them along with Brad Maynard, Chris Bryan and Jason Baker.

McBriar was scheduled to work out for the Cowboys, but opted to go with the Eagles.

McBriar underwent surgery during the offseason to take out a cyst in his knee. The Eagles have until 4 p.m. to get back down to 90 players.
