No. 12 New Iberia and junior CB Daniel Lewis (Hawaii offer) tangle with No. 21 Scotlandville tonight…
Indiana evaluating Lewis
Daniel Lewis got his first offer last week from Hawaii, and now the junior is in contact with Indiana. "I talked to Indiana's defensive backs coach on the phone," Lewis said. "We didn't talk for long because it was late, but told me they're looking for some shutdown corners and asked me to send my film." Indiana has offered 2014 four-star tight end Jacory Washington from Westlake, a Class 3A program located in southwest Louisiana near the Texas border. Hawaii has offered both Washington and Lewis. Lewis plays both sides of the ball at Class 5A New Iberia, a small city of 30,000 nestled near the Gulf Coast. New Iberia is 7-2. In addition to his duties at corner, Lewis (5-11 1/2, 190) sees action at running back and wildcat. He's rushed for six touchdowns. Earlier this year, Lewis participated in the National Underclassman Combine Five-Star Showcase, the Ultimate 100 and the NUC Top Prospect Camp (held in Oklahoma). Lewis is academically qualified with a full plate of honors courses on his curriculum.
