Enewally talks UCLA visit

DB Patrick Enewally

Cerritos (Calif.) Gahr defensive back Patrick Enewally has been a pretty solid Washington lean for the last month or so but UCLA made up a lot of ground following his official visit to Westwood over the weekend.

Patrick Enewally has taken official visits to Boise State and Washington and checked out UCLA over the weekend.

"I had a great visit, it was pretty amazing there," Enewally said. "The camaraderie everyone had was incredible. All the players and recruits hung out together and it was like we had all known each other for years.

"When you look at UCLA, they're pretty stacked at every position except DB. That's the one area they need help and with the guys they have commitments from and they guys that are leaning there now, it could be one of the best DB classes anyone has ever had. We were all talking with each other saying we could be DBU (Defensive Back University) if we all went there so that was real cool."

On the visit, UCLA picked up commitments from corner Johnny Johnson and safety Tyler Foreman and also appears to be leading for corner Priest Willis and safety Tahaan Goodman.

"UCLA's whole recruiting class is pretty stacked everywhere," Enewally said. "They have a good young team, a freshman quarterback and a lot of skill all over the place. The school is close to home, I really get along well with all the coaches and the academics are unreal.

"UCLA is such a prestigious school and with the academic and tutor support they provide, you really have to want to fail to do bad there. Kenny Orjioke was my host and I had a great time with him. Westwood is a fun place and the players took us out and we all had a great time. Like I said, I was amazed at how well everyone on the team gets along, that really stood out for me."

Enewally said he spent a lot of time with the coaching staff and that opened his eyes quite a bit.

"It was good to see where I stood with the UCLA coaches," Enewally said. "I hadn't talked with them as much as some other schools but they broke things down for me and showed me how I would fit in there and how I could play early. I spent a lot of time with Coach Mora, Coach Marting and Coach Klemm and I really like all the coaches a lot.

"Coach Mora is supposed to come in for a home visit next week and I think California will be coming by as well. Washington has been in a few times but they may come back once more. Cal is recruiting me hard and wants me to visit but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that. I'm playing in the West Coast Bowl this weekend so it would have to be the following weekend (Feb. 2) if I do make it out there."

Enewally said there's a good chance he could make his decision on Sunday at the West Coast Bowl. If he's not ready at that time, he could wait until Signing Day to make his announcement.

"I'm just playing it day by day," Enewally said. "UCLA and Washington are high on my list and Boise State and Cal are there too. If it feels right, I could announce this week. If I think I need more time, I'll wait and do it on Signing Day, right now, it's all up in the air and we'll see how it goes."
