Carl English is the Player of the Year as the WAC coaches select their preseason poll and all-WAC teams.

Tulsa will win the WAC basketball championship and Carl English will be the conference Player of the Year. That’s if you believe what the coaches think.

The Western Athletic Conference announced its men’s basketball preseason poll and all-WAC teams on Tuesday. They were voted on by the 10 conference coaches.

Tulsa received 79 points to edge Hawaii who had 71 points. Tulsa also received 7 first place votes, Hawaii got 2 and Fresno State picked up the other first place vote.

Carl English was the only Bow named to either the first or second teams. English averaged 15.5 points a game and 5.1 rebounds a contest last season. Tulsa placed two players, Kevin Johnson and Dante Swanson, on the first team and Antonio Reed was named to the second team.

Hawaii tips off its season at home on November 22nd against Arkansas-Little Rock.
