Baseball: Grand Slam Celebration

The baseball fundraiser will take place at the Stan Sheriff Center on Tuesday, January 28th and will include food from some of the best restaurants on the island and a chance to meet the 2003 team.

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i baseball team and Panda Travel will be hosting the "UH Baseball Grand Slam Celebration" from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at the Stan Sheriff Center. The day will start with a tour of the UH athletic facilities and a chance to meet the 2003 Rainbow baseball players and coaches from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m., heavy pupus and drinks will be available while the program, emceed by KKEA's Don Robbs, starts. The pupus will be provided by chefs Sam Choy of Sam Choy's Restaurants, Colin Nishida of Side Street Inn/Fort St. Bar & Grill, Scott Okamoto of the Chart House, Pedro Rivera Rosa of Sodexho Services, Warren Seta of Malibu Chan's of Las Vegas and Russell Siu of 3660 On the Rise/Kaka`ako Kitchen. Wine tasting will also be available through Better Brands, Paradise Beverages and Southern Wine & Spirits. There will also be a silent auction running from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 ($25 of which is tax deductible) individually and $750 ($350 of which is tax deductible) for a table. Tables will include eight seats along with seats for two Rainbow baseball players. Parking will be free with tickets to the event. For each ticket purchased, you will recieve two complimentary tickets to the UH season opener against UCLA on Feb. 7, 2003.
